Acupuncture Treatment
The word is formed from the combination of the words acus (needle) and punctura (prick, insertion) and simply means "treatment by needle pricking".
Acupuncture considers the human body, which Western medicine sees as a mechanical machine, together with the soul and can help patients who have difficulty finding solutions with current treatments.
With its 5000-year history, acupuncture is a traditional but also scientific treatment.
It has been shown with radioisotope injections that there are channels in our body other than arteries, veins and lymphatics, and the concept of meridians in acupuncture has been understood more clearly, strengthening the role of acupuncture in the scientific field.
These channels are named meridians specific to the organ they affect. According to the philosophy of acupuncture, chi, called life energy, circulates in these meridians, and existing diseases are caused by blockages in these meridians.
According to the basic philosophy of acupuncture, which is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, living beings live their lives in a certain balance. If this balance is disrupted for any reason, diseases occur. The main purpose of acupuncture is to restore this disturbed balance and to cure the disease by supporting the body's self-healing ability.
How is acupuncture treatment applied?
With sterile disposable, very thin steel needles, the points that cause blockage in the meridian are determined by various examination methods, and those points are pricked, the patient is kept in a quiet room for 20-30 minutes, and then the needles are removed. Afterwards, if deemed necessary by the acupuncture physician, depending on the patient and the disease, permanent needles that can remain in the ear for up to a week can be inserted.
